Learning Journal Week 4
This week began a little slower than Week 3 since I’ve been allowed to relax after turning in my Industry Analysis essay and seeing my grade for it. That feeling didn’t last because I already had to create an outline for our second and more serious essay that’s worth double the points of the previous one. This course moves really fast and I appreciate the time saved compared to taking normal semester length classes. Let’s get to what I’m required to talk about!
I don’t think my educational goals are too ambitious for this program. I’d like to complete every course with at least a grade of 90% or higher. I’ll achieve that by completing all of my assignments on time and by doing any and all available extra credit. I would like to attain a feeling of pride and accomplishment. Those grades would be nice for my overall GPA too since it’s suffered a few times from certain unplanned life events taking priority over some classes at my previous schools.
My career goals aren’t especially clear at this point in my life. I did get a glimpse into one possible future career at Cloud Imperium Games through my Industry Analysis essay. I don’t know what exactly I want, but I want good benefits and a high salary. I don’t really have any work experience so it’s hard to imagine what my ideal career would be like.
After reviewing the description and sample of the ETS Computer Science test and knowing that this program will prepare me for it, I think that I will probably score somewhere around the 90th percentile for the test. I think I’d get that because I’m confident in my future abilities.
Hey Vance,
ReplyDeleteI like your educational goal with attempting to get a 90% or higher in every course. I feel like it gives you enough breathing room to achieve your goal without being too restrictive. One strategy I really like is the goal of completing assignments ahead of time and doing the extra credit. I feel like turning in all of the assignments will get you most of the way to a good grade, and the extra credit can make up any missed points. Nice work good luck in class and keep working towards your goals.
